It&#8217;s easy to do, because you&#8217;re too close. You think everyone will know, you assume they can figure it out. But it doesn&#8217;t work that way. Lots of people don&#8217;t know. Maybe they found you through search, or they recently moved to town, or they just never knew about you before.<\/p>\n<p>So here&#8217;s the checklist of basic info every small town business ought to include on their website.<\/p>\n<ul><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/bjmccray\/2890690183\/\" title=\"Everybody has a website by bjmccray, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Everybody has a website\" border=\"0\" height=\"161\" src=\"https:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3171\/2890690183_5ba3cab7f1_m.jpg\" width=\"240\"><\/a><b>At the very top: <\/b><\/p>\n<li>Full business name\u00a0 <\/li>\n<li>Business category, if it isn&#8217;t stated in the name <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul><b>Get in contact: <\/b><\/p>\n<li>Phone number<\/li>\n<li>Email address\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Mailing address <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul><b>Location: <\/b><\/p>\n<li>City and state<\/li>\n<li>Street address<\/li>\n<li>Map of your location, or link to an online map <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul><b>Come on in: <\/b><\/p>\n<li>Business hours\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Bonus: picture of your business from the street<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul><b>Buy something: <\/b><\/p>\n<li>Lines of business<\/li>\n<li>Specific brand names<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Take time to check your site. You might be surprised at what&#8217;s missing.<\/p>\n<p>And don&#8217;t bury these essentials in small type, or hard to find locations.
