Spotlight a local business<\/h2>\n

Today, we\u2019re going to shine a spotlight on another local business near you.<\/strong> You can do this on Facebook, Instagram, or any place you promote your business.<\/p>\n

Pick a great local business.<\/strong>\u00a0You can choose a friend and fellow store owner you know well and want to feature. Or you can reach out to a store you really don\u2019t know much about and get to know them better. Hey, you could even do both.<\/p>\n

Stop in during their regular business hours. Look around. Ask them a few questions.<\/strong>\u00a0You need to be able to write at least three sentences<\/strong> about why they are a great store and how they make the community stronger.<\/p>\n

Shoot a photo of at least one gift item<\/strong>\u00a0they are selling and maybe a photo showing how cute their store is.<\/p>\n

Tell them you\u2019ll be sharing it online.<\/strong> Tell them where they can look for it.<\/p>\n

Now, post your mini-story online.<\/strong> Include the photos, tell your three sentence story, and include the hashtag #ShopIndieLocal plus any local hashtags. Tag the business by name so they\u2019ll be notified about it.<\/p>\n

Boost your business buddies<\/h2>\n

While you\u2019re online, look up your local business buddies who are also participating. See if they have posted their mini-stories yet. When you find them, like and share them!<\/p>\n
